GRAND OPENING PROMO on Mary Pauline Main Square Mall

How long since you visited your “mother ship”, Momma?
We all know that nice hair, nice nails definitely need maintenance. It’s high time to pamper yourself after maintaining EVERYTHING. I’m just pretty excited to let you know that there’s a new, hot salon right now!

My good friend and mom-preneur, Mia, just recently opened her Mary Pauline Salon – Main Square Mall in Bacoor, Cavite. Who knew that her hobbies and interests in beauty and make-up turned into her business someday? Don’t get me started on how we got to where we are now since we have a history of taking Biology in college. Funny how life turned out for us!

Mary Pauline MSM is a full service salon from nails to hair; they even have Gluta IV drip which I’d love to try soon. They also have Eyebrow embroidery coz, of course, Kilay is LIfe. They had their Grand Opening on October 28, 2017 with smashing discounts. They had a ribbon cutting and catering for this special occasion.

Ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Busy day on Grand Opening day. Despite the wait time, I was well-accommodated with my questions and expectations.

I can’t help but feel the need to share THEIR FABULOUS PACKAGES. It really is the season to be jolly and merry with these good deals! Hurry, because this is only until November 30th!  Better yet, make sure you follow their Facebook page here .

I had my long-overdue color with them and chose golden brown since my hair have gone darker. They also recommended me to have a color wash to act as a hair color reset so my hair can absorb the color and can easily cover my (secret) white hair.

Before the color change, my hair was dark and no amount of "brown" can really make it obvious.
The transformation begins. In good hands with my stylist, Chris' hands.

This. is. the. life. Sana ganito every weekend ni Mamshie!
How about this Maleficent look? Yay or Nay? HAHA!

WORTH NOTING: this shampoo chair is just VERY COMFY. It fits just right under my neck without straining my back! That's one thing I hate from many salons is how uncomfortable shampoo-ing and rinsing steps can be.

One of the friendly staff there.

I finally got the light brown shade I've been searching for. I've tried cheap products to L'oreal Brown tints but to no avail. My white hair was covered and I'll definitely check for further options on how to get it under control as I've known that white hair problems should be addressed by darker shades instead of light. I just might have to say Auf Wiedersehen to the Koreanovela look and opt for the darker manes of the Kardashian sisters. What do you think? :)

The final look.

A Chat with a Top Model: Chesca Lagua

Benefit and Mommievents recently paired up and created a workshop called The Ultimate Guide to Being a Benefit Babe at the dainty Benefit store in Alabang Town Center. Franchesca Lagua is one of the event ambassadors alongside DJ Sexy Megan from Yes FM. Chesca graced us with her top model presence and with an extra helping of sky high legs and ultra lean figure from Shanna Retuya (ramp/commercial/Philippine Fashion week model).

Although the pair towered all of us, they were the most down-to-earth darlings. They were up for selfies and quick chats with participants. I took the opportunity to take a selfie with Chesca which would seemingly look like Lady Galadriel and a hobbit would photograph together. She hunched halfway as I tiptoed, tilted and angled my phone so both of us can fit into the frame.

Before I transform this feature into some LOTR geekery, here's the score on Chesca's make-up go-to and the real deal on Asia's Next Top Model:

Dish # 1 - Brows before bros I ask…

The Ultimate Guide to Being a Benefit Babe

Benefit and Mommievents has teamed up to set up The Ultimate Guide to Being a Benefit Babe workshop which showcased how to do brows and make up just like a Certified Benebabe. This took place in the charming Benefit boutique at Alabang Town Center on April 29, 2017.

Participants witnessed make up techniques and tips from the workshop instructor: Jedd Entilla, Benefit Makeup & Brow Expert. Since it's a Benefit workshop, the participants got their hands on Benefit products which was everyone's favorite part.

There were snacks and refreshments. There were loot bags that have Benefit giveaways.

The workshop started with introductions by Desha Buen, Benefit Assistant Expert and Camille Manalo from Mommievents. The participants were grouped together to gear up for the workshop's agenda. There were two groups: Marshmallow Mamas and Glam Girls. They had a short group introduction by making a cheer presentation before they star…

Carrier Review: Baby SaBye Mei Tai

Type of Carrier: Baby SaBye Mei Tai
Carrier details: Mei Tai  - reversible blue and red; standard size; handwoven 100% natural cotton; vegetable dye
The back is 14.5 inches (at waist) and 16 inches (at shoulder) wide; 17 inches tall without waist strap. Each shoulder strap is 9.5 to 10.5 inches wide, and 87 inches long. Waist strap is 3 inches wide and 69 inches long.
Wrappee:  BabyG (boy)– 10 months – 10kgs/22 lbs
Wrapper:  small – chubby build –US size 10

First glance – Baby Sabye Mei Tai looked thick and a bit rough. This is my first time to try a mei tai and I had some reservations with the straps, the size where Baby G will “sit on”  and if it can withstand Baby G’s weight on the get-go. When I tried tying the waist belt, it was crunchy and I made an effort to tighten the knot to secure it. The straps were thinner than the waist belt which was floppy and flexible. When I wore Baby G, it was an instant hit with us!

This Mei Tai has been with us for about 3 weeks because we had other test…
