South Mommies & Babies Gather for Great Cloth Diaper Change - SPiN event

The Great Cloth Diaper Change (GCDC) by South PiNanays (SPiN) was held at Festival Mall, Alabang last April 23, 2016. It was a success with 69 mommy and baby pairs who simultaneously changed baby diapers to enter the Guinness World Record for the ‘most cloth diapers changed’ at one time. This event was done in partnership with Modern Cloth Nappying Pinays (MCNP), Breastfeeding Pinays, Mommy Talk Philippines, and Newlyweds@Work.

The GCDC is an annual worldwide event created by the Real Diaper Association that aims to spread awareness about the benefits of cloth diapering, advocating cloth diapers as an environment-friendly choice for families. This year, there were 235 registered GCDC events in 19 countries, eight were held in the Philippines, one of which was the SPiN event in Alabang.

Mommies and their companions also enjoyed the mini-bazaar featuring small mommy-owned businesses that offered family-friendly products. There were also talks about cloth diapering, breastfeeding, and oral care/dental health for children. There were also free fluoride applications for the kids. Mommies and Daddies get a make over from the free haircuts provided there. Prizes from games and raffles were given out throughout the day.

The SPiN GCDC Sponsors were:
Festival Mall, David's Salon, Sylergy, Sydenase, Tempra, Green Cross, Zonrox, PeeWee Explorers, The Nest, Kidsmile Pediatric Dental Clinic, and Ingente-Valencerina Photography.

Great Image Family Photoshoot

The Christmas Holiday is fast approaching and it is a perfect time for families to get their photos taken. There are many options to choose from and we got ours from Great Image Studios.  We went to Beloved Studios in Megamall which is also a sub-company of Great Images. We were accommodated by their manager, A and Joan, the photographer. They made us feel at ease and were very patient with giving us instructions and they especially loved working with Baby G. I can definitely say they are experienced with handling little kids with their energetic process of capturing memorable shots. Their photoshoot session starts as low as 350php. Great deal, right? The photos below are our high resolution digital files and we got ours sooner than we expected. :) The D'Towns are looking forward to our printed shots - will post them as soon as we get them!  Do you want to get a free photo session with (1) 5R print? Each shoulder strap is 9.5 to 10.5 inches wide, and 87 inches long. Waist strap is 3 inches wide and 69 inches long. Wrappee:   BabyG (boy)– 10 months – 10kgs/22 lbs Wrapper:   small – chubby build –US size 10 First glance – Baby Sabye Mei Tai looked thick and a bit rough. This is my first time to try a mei tai and I had some reservations with the straps, the size where Baby G will “sit on”  and if it can withstand Baby G’s weight on the get-go. When I tried tying the waist belt, it was crunchy and I made an effort to tighten the knot to secure it. The straps were thinner than the waist belt which was floppy and flexible. When I wore Baby G, it was an instant hit with us! ...

SAHM TV: TV Guilty Pleasures

Blog entry:  TV Guilty Pleasure First of all, there's a whole lot of misconception that we, SAHMs, are "just" at home and that's all there is to it. We are busy Queen Bees in our own hives. We do chores, cook decent, edible (and sometimes 5-star quality *wink*) meals on top of handling little tykes. These darlings may be small but they can be a handful. As Stay-at-home Moms, we also need a break from our "workload" and we turn the TV on in hopes to see something that can take our mind off all the worries, chores and the list of other things we need to/want to do for the day (or even the next day!). What are your TV guilty pleasures? The kind of which you think you would not really like as much but then you suddenly find yourself following them. Back when I was single, I only had limited TV time and I just selectively watch what truly captured my interest. Here are my Top 5 TV guilty pleasures: 1.) Keeping Up with The Kardashians - ...
